Return Policy

At Summerside Tack & Equestrian Wear we pride ourselves on providing excellent customer service so that you and your horse are 100% happy with the products you purchase. If your purchase is not the correct size, shape or colour, we are happy to exchange it. If you have any questions before purchasing an item, please contact us (you can email us at ​summersidetack@shaw.ca or call us at 250 890-9158 or Toll Free at 1-855 825-7457) to make certain we get your order right - this can be especially important for apparel, footwear and horse blankets.

Please contact us if you want to return, exchange or refund an item. Please note that items must be returned in new condition with all original packaging and tags. Items that are worn, laundered, used or damaged cannot be returned.

If your products arrived damaged please send us photos, a copy of your receipt, and information about the item within one week of receipt. Please follow the steps for returning items set out below. For items arriving damaged we will cover all return shipping charges.

Returns & Exchanges

Returns must be made within 30 days of purchase and the product must be in its original condition, with tags and with the original sales receipt. We will not accept returns or exchanges on products that are worn, dirty, laundered, abused, altered, misused or damaged. We do not credit shipping or handling charges on returns or exchanges. The purchaser is responsible for the cost of returning items. You can choose between an exchange, store credit or refund. Refunds will be made only to the original purchaser’s credit card. ​Please not all clearance and sale items are final sale, and will not be accepted for a refund, or exchange.

We will do our utmost to ensure that you and your horse get the tack and products you want. And, we can bring in special orders for exchanges.

How to send an item back

1.Before returning any items, contact the store to obtain a Return Authorization Number (RA#). You can receive your RA# by contacting us by phone, email or by the Contact Us Page on our website. Please include your name, contact information, email address, item(s) you are returning, the reason for the return, receipt number, and if you want an exchange, a store credit or a refund.

2.Once you have submitted your RA# request, please allow 3 business days for us to process your request.

3.You will be contacted by one of our staff members via email. Contained in the email will be instructions on how to return your purchase and a Return Authorization number (RA#).

4.Please print a copy of this email and include it with your return items.

5.Carefully package your products (in their original packaging) Include a copy of the original receipt & a copy of the RA# e-mail that you received from us. Address your package to the address provided in the RA# email. Please be sure to reference the RA# on the front of your return address label. We strongly recommend insuring your package as we cannot be responsible for returns that arrive damaged in transit or that get lost in transit!

6.We are sorry but we cannot accept collect returns. Shipping charges are not refundable. Please note that if your purchase is determined to be defective OR you are returning the purchase item due to an error on our part, we will gladly refund both the original and the return shipping charges.

7.We will be in contact with you once your returned items have been received.

All international customers are responsible for any duty incurred at the border.

Please note the following items that cannot be returned for a refund:

  • personalized or custom ordered items
  • books
  • DVDs or recorded materials
  • Bits (due to hygienic reasons once they have been in the horse's mouth)

Horse & Dog blankets and/or sheets must be returned clean and unused. We recommend putting a clean bed sheet on your horse or dog before trying on your new blanket or sheet in order to keep it clean.
