Horseware: Rhino Blankets

Let's take a look together on what set's Horseware Rhino Blanket a step above from the other horse blankets on the market. The Rhino line from Horseware Ireland is our customer's favorite brand of horse blanket and is ideal for our wet west coast climate.

The Rhino line of blanket comes in four styles, Original, Plus, Wug and Pony All-In-One. The Plus is one of our favorites as it comes with a detachable hood. The Wug is a high neck style, perfect for the more narrow horse prone to wither rubs.

Rhino blankets are made with a tough polypropylene outer layer. This fabric is 50-100% stronger than coated polyester, which is used in the majority of turnout blankets. Rhino rugs are light but very strong. Polypropylene has good resistance to water, allowing the droplets to sit on the surface rather than be absorbed into the fabric.

Under the outer layer, is the second waterproof barrier. This is what makes Rhino so special. The two layers of waterproofing. This AquaTrans coating is applied to the barrier layer.

Horseware used comfortable thermobonded fiber fill in their blankets. This traps the warm air to keep your horse cozy. Lined with an anti-bacterial and anti-static rug lining to keep your horse's coat smooth and shiny.

In blankets with fill, the Rhino uses Vari-Layer technology. This means, they put more of the fibre fill over the horse's back, where they generally lose the most heat. By keeping the fill focused over the critical area, it allows the rest of the blanket to be physically lighter which makes it easier to take on and off.
